Saving and Sanity
SAVING:
This update sees the implementation of Saving mechanics. Initially I wasn't going to bother adding saving until the full release, but, based on the feedback I've had on the demo thus far, it felt like a necessary addition. It should address some issues that people have been having with the difficulty of the game; no longer will dying feel so punishing.
However, to stay true to the classic Survival Horror greats, saving is both item-constrained and location-constrained. In other words, in order to save the game, you'll have to take your 'ink pot' to a scroll of 'parchment' in the save room (and upon successfully recording your progress, the ink pot will be destroyed). There are a total of 2 ink pots to find in the demo.
SANITY:
I've also added a few new cool little environmental changes that will trigger if your sanity is damaged.
I have some really exciting things planned for the sanity system of this game, so this is just a taster...
Anyway, that's all for this update. The next update to the demo will focus on general polish, while I continue to expand the wider game. I'll have some cool new screenshots ready to share soon, so be sure to follow if you're interested.
